Akizip: Building an Open-Source Tool with a Friend

I am recently building Akizip with a friend, mostly as an open-source project for fun. It is a graphical archive manager for GNOME, built with GTK 4 and libadwaita, and works as a modern front-end for 7-Zip.

Akizip focuses on a clean desktop workflow: creating and extracting archives, inspecting archive contents, running long operations in the background, reporting progress, and exposing logs when something needs debugging. The Flathub download count rushed past 1000+ only a few days after launch, which was a nice surprise.
